The Rofco B40 is not for everyone — but for the home baker who has grown past consumer equipment and wants professional output, it is one of the best investments you can make.

## Three Chambers, Real Deck Oven Results

The B40 has three stone-floor chambers stacked vertically. Each chamber holds 2–4 loaves depending on size, giving you 6–12 loaves per full load. Each chamber heats independently, which is a meaningful advantage for managing different stages of your bake.

## 240V Requirement

This is the primary barrier for most home bakers. The Rofco B40 requires a dedicated 240V circuit. If you do not have one, budget for an electrician. This is not a cheap addition, but it is a one-time cost.

## Performance

The stones reach temperature in 45–60 minutes. Bake quality is excellent — strong bottom heat, consistent browning, excellent oven spring. Steam injection is not built in, but bakers use various techniques (lava rocks, towels) to create steam.

## Verdict

If you are baking for farmers market sales, a CSA, or a serious home operation, the Rofco B40 is the gold standard at its price point. If you are a casual home baker, look at the Simply Bread Oven instead.
